ART-LAB 00 Prototype
Crystallization Light Structure
Bridging the gap between art and science. This structure is part of the series the Artist-as-Scientist Structures that allows the artist to become a scientist in his/her own laboratory. The project seeks to shed light on and reveal the beauty of the process-led work, the behind-the-scene structures not intended to be revealed to the beholder’s eyes. It melts wax and pours it in cold water, entering thus the realm of crystallization. The structure is equipped with motors that are remote controlled to a certain extent, whereby the artist stands back and controls the pouring through a remote control. In the early stage, the artist has to intervene before controlling the rest of the second phase of the experiment through the remote control.
