Ink drawn illustration of my personal interpretation of the book. Written by Eugène Ionesco, the play is often read as a response to and criticism of the sudden upsurge of Communism, Fascism, and Nazism during the events preceding World War II, and explores the themes of conformity, culture, mass movements, mob mentality, philosophy and morality. It explores this through having people metamorphose into rhinoceroses.
